On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Elections System will host a National Voter Registration Expo at the Elections System Office on St. Thomas from 9:00AM – 3:00PM and on St. John from 10:00AM – 2:00PM at the Cruz Bay Bandstand. St. Croix will host its celebration on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 9:00AM – 3:00PM at the Elections System Office and the Sunny Isles Amphitheatre.
The Elections System joined the nation on September 17th in recognizing the annual civic holiday in the United States. The day sought to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise.
The Expo for each district will feature various vendors, light refreshments, music and entertainment for the kids. Some participating vendors for tomorrows expo are Liberty USVI, MASA, League of Women Voters, etc. The public is invited to come out, participate and use this opportunity to register to vote. There will also be a voting machine demonstration of machines to be utilized in the upcoming 2024 General Election. “Registration is the first step and participation is the next most important step. If you do not vote your voice is silent on the issues of the territory, you must show up to vote”, said Supervisor Fawkes.
