The Elections System of the Virgin Islands (ESVI) joins the nation in celebrating National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. National Voter Registration Day is a civic holiday in the United States. The day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise. Supervisor Fawkes is encouraging all United Staes citizens residing in the Virgin Islands to visit the Elections Offices and register to vote.

The Elections System Offices recognition of National Voter Registration Day will be celebrated Tuesday, September 17, 2024, through Saturday, September 28, 2024. Visit your elections office on Tuesday, September 17th and register to vote or update your voter registration status, stated Supervisor Fawkes. Fees for replacement ID cards will be waived during this period. The offices will distribute promotional giveaways in each district.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Elections System will host a National Voter Registration Expo at the Elections System Office on St. Thomas from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and on St. John from 10:00AM – 2:00 PM at the Cruz Bay Bandstand. St. Croix will host its celebration on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 9:00AM – 3:00PM at the Elections System Office Atrium and the Sunny Isles Amphitheatre.

The Expo for each district will feature various vendors, light refreshments and music. The public is invited to come out, participate and use this opportunity to register to vote. There will also be a demonstration of voting machines that will be utilized in the upcoming 2024 General Election.
