PREMIERING OF EPISODE 2 – FORMER GOVERNORS OFTHE VIRGIN ISLANDS

The Elections System of the Virgin Islands (ESVI) is proud to announce the upcoming
broadcast of the next highly anticipated episode of its TV series, “Marking Milestones.”
Former Governors of the Virgin Islands-Parts 1&2 will air on Viya cable TV’s Channel 27 at
8 PM, also Facebook.com/vivote.gov, YouTube@ElectionSystem and the website,
www.vivote.gov on June 22nd and June 23rd, said Caroline Fawkes, Supervisor of Elections.

As ESVI celebrates its 60th anniversary, “Marking Milestones” is a special series that delves
into the personal stories and consequential work of Virgin Islanders who have interacted
with ESVI over the past six decades. Episode 1which aired earlier this year during V.I. History
month, featured notable figures who shared about their experiences as women in politics,
views about political parties, and the importance of voting as a civic duty.

Former Governors – Part 1 on June 22nd will feature former Governor John P. DeJongh, who
prior to coming to elected office was actively involved with community development and
commercial banking. He has been considered instrumental in shaping Virgin Islands politics
for over 30 years.

Part 2 on June 23rd will feature former Governor Kenneth E. Mapp, who also served as
senator in the USVI Legislature and as lieutenant governor. He has been regarded as a
prominent figure who has left an enduring impact for more than 40 years in Virgin Islands
politics.

“’Marking Milestones’ provides viewers with insights into the lives of our public figures, their
decisions, and the influence they have had on the territory’s advancement,” said Fawkes. “It
is an essential contribution to the quest for our community to understand our shared history
and the transformative role of these figures. The Elections System of the Virgin Islands is honored to contribute to the documentation of our development, and we encourage
everyone to tune in .”
