Elections System Announces Temporary Changes to Early Voting Hours inSt. Thomas/St. John District Due to WAPA Utility Service Continued Interruptions

The Office of the Supervisor of Elections advises the public that due to the continued WAPA power outages and water service interruption affecting the Elections System Office Early Voting Center on St. Thomas, temporary adjustments to the Early Voting schedule are necessary.

The St. Thomas Early Voting Center will close today, Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Additionally, Early Voting hours for Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the St. Thomas/St. John District will be reduced and will operate from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes encourages all eligible voters to plan accordingly and thanks the public for its patience and understanding as the Elections System works to ensure a safe and accessible voting environment during the temporary utility service interruptions. Voters are urged by the Supervisor to not wait until the last day, because we cannot project future daily impact on the office operations due to the continued WAPA interruptions.”

Early Voting operations in the St. Croix District will not be affected by these utility-related disruptions and will continue to operate under the regularly scheduled Early Voting hours. The Elections System anticipates resuming its normal Early Voting schedule for the St. Thomas/St. John District on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Early Voting is scheduled to run through October 31st, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily on St. Thomas & St. Croix. St. John scheduled hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, October 23, 2026, to October 31, 2026. Voting Centers are open on Saturdays and Sundays. The Early Voting locations are:

St. Croix Elections Office-Sunny Isles Shopping Center Unit 26
St. Thomas Elections Office- Lockhart Gardens (Upstairs Banco Popular)
St. John Elections Office- Market Place Suite II, 3rd Floor

Absentee Ballots are available as an alternate for anyone that is unable to Early Vote or participate on General Election Day. Applications are available at our website- https://www.vivote.gov/voters/absenteeballot .
