NOTICE: Sixth Constitutional Convention Nomination Papers Available

 Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes is reminding prospective aspirants for the Sixth Constitutional Convention that nomination papers are available for pickup territory wide. 

Act 8681 established the Sixth Constitutional Convention of the Virgin Islands. The Sixth Constitutional Convention is composed of fifteen (15) delegates, who must be elected from the legislative districts of the Virgin Islands, as established 2 V.I.C. § 101. Seven (7) Delegates from the St. Croix District, Seven (7) Delegates from the St. Thomas/St. John District and One (1) Delegate from the island St. John. 

No person may file a petition to be a candidate for delegate, be elected to or be seated as a member of the Constitutional Convention unless the person is: (1) a citizen of the United States;(2) a qualified voter of the Virgin Islands; and (3) a bona fide resident of the Virgin Islands. All employees of the Government of the Virgin Islands are eligible to run as a Delegate. 

Supervisor Fawkes would like to reiterate, although the Sixth Constitutional Convention Election is scheduled for November, All Aspirants for the Sixth Constitutional Convention, must participate in the Nomination Process which began on April 8, 2024, and ends on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. 

Office locations and time are as follows: 

St. Croix Elections Office-Sunny Isles Shopping Center Unit 24 
(8:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily) 
St. Thomas Elections Office- Lockhart Gardens (Upstairs Banco Popular) 
(8:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily) 
St. John Elections Office- Market Place Suite II. 
(Tuesdays and Thursdays – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily) 

In closing, Supervisor Fawkes encourages prospective aspirants to familiarize themselves with the
Sixth Constitutional Convention Election Calendar and Acts 8681, 8734, 8788, and 8814.
