The Elections System of the Virgin Islands is proud to announce a special broadcast event, “Marking Milestone: Senators At-Large,” scheduled for Friday, December 29, 2023, at 8:00 PM. The event will be aired on Viya’s channel 27 and ESVI’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
This unique broadcast will feature former Senators Cleone Creque-Maynard, Almando “Rocky” Liburd, and Craig Barshinger, who will engage in discussions spanning almost three generations of public service in the U.S Virgin Islands. The series aims to underscore the significance of voting, foster a greater interest in civics, and elucidate how these elements shape the political landscape of the U.S Virgin Islands.
“We are thrilled to present this special broadcast as part of our 60th-anniversary celebrations,” said Caroline F. Fawkes, Supervisor of Elections of the Elections System of the Virgin Islands. “Through these programs, we hope to highlight the importance of civic engagement and the enduring impact of our unique cultural heritage on the political life of our islands.”
